HVAC rebates open to low- and moderate-level income New Yorkers

Good news for New Yorkers in low-to-moderate income households.

They may be eligible for as much as $14,000 in rebates for energy improvements such as heat pumps, insulation improvements and air sealing.

New York was the first state in the nation to qualify for the federal program, the Inflation Reduction Act, which is designed to significantly reduce utility bills.

In addition to lower energy bills, the IRA offers improved home comfort and safety and reduced stress on the environment.

New York also is applying for a separate program that would provide eligible households up to $8,000 for projects that cut energy usage by at least 20 percent.
