Winter and water heater woes

A hot shower or bath is a great way to ward off winter’s chill, but what happens when the water stops heating?

You can turn the heater thermostat up – but only to 125 degrees – and see if the water gets warmer.

If not, see if the pressure relief valve is working and inspect the gas supply or electrical power, depending on whether you have a gas or electric water heater. Does the thermostat’s limit switch need to be reset?

These are the “easy fixes.” If none work for you, call a professional experienced in working with water heaters.

Elite HVAC tech solves problems with water heaters as well as issues with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
